EVO-R FD DEMON-i sleek headlight kit new release
Great looking kit. Unfortunately not a chance the lighting will be good based on the supplied lamps. I guess you could buy the kit without the lights and then go to the retrofitsource.com and put something together that would be good.
What's wrong with the supplied lamps? IS there an option for 55w HIDs? How about a LED high beam lamp like HWL supplies? I'm pretty sure if a 55w HID bulb is offered then it will be more than enough light.
Any reviews anybody?
Bright light is definitely a priority bc mountain roads don't have lamp posts...

The low beam supplied is a fog light used to enhance driving while using HIGH beams:
PIAA | 2100XT Driving XTreme White Plus Halogen #02192
It's not meant to be used as a driving low beam lamp nor is it mean to be the only source of light. Straight from the PIAA website:
"Typically, driving lights are mounted above the front bumper about 14-30 inches from the ground to provide extra high beam illumination."
And then,
"Do not use driving lights into oncoming traffic.
Driving lights should never be the only foreword light source.
Driving lights should only be used with the headlamp high beams."
And by then putting a HID bull in it, all you will do is blind the oncoming traffic.
Finally, regarding the supplied projector high beams, if this is the same 60mm projector used on the other EVO-R kits, the light output is very poor. I have seen the other kits in person and you'd do much better by going with something else.

I can't see how the projected light would be the high beam while the rectangular one would be the low beam. In fact, I've reversed them so the projected light is my low beam with Morimoto ballasts and bulbs from theretrofitsource.com. So I've decent low beams. As to my high beams, they are not so good, I need to rethink it to make them really high beams. But practically I don't drive at nights.
Two things to note:
* the projector light should be HID to have the correct light pattern.
* the rectangular light must not be HID to have relatively ok light pattern. But still it'd be sparse.
In general, the quality of the kit is very good, fitment is very good too.

^ I think that is the way the HWL setup works. The problem you will have using the projector as the low beam is its position. It's on the inside of the housing and you will not get as good a light "spread" from that. There is a reason cars use the outmost position on the headlight for the low beams and the inner for the highs.
I do like your retrofit of the projectors with retrofit source.com parts.
And remember, for the rectangular light, it is meant to be an auxiliary light, not a primary source. Therefore, no matter what you do, it won't have correct light output when used alone.

Pretty decent kit, awesome fitment.. i have it on my car but light output really is horrible, driving at night is like playing a horror game, you dont know what's coming up ahead. Desperatly looking for other projectors to put in because this is just NOT going to cut it..
Looks nice but if i knew this i would have bought this without the supplied lights and get a set together myself..
just my 2 cents

I ordered mine almost 8 weeks ago now, the website said "in stock and ready to ship" when I ordered. this is the first time Evo-r has bothered to respond about my order, if it ships out next
week that would be good.

Someone was asking about the same thing here with this style headlight with a 99 spec bumper. It's an R-magic headlight page, but it's pretty much the same as the EVO-R Demon-I. It's a photoshopped pic, but you get the idea.
