R-magic Lights w/ 99 spec front bumper

I am debating the R-magic headlights....

R-magic Lights

....w/ an OEM 99 spec front bumper

Just not sure if that is the way to go or not. I know I like each piece by itself, but I've never seen them together.

I love the R-Magic Lights. Always hated the 99-spec bumper...looks like the car is smiling too much.

I want my FD to look like it is about to rape me prison style, not give me a friendly reach around.

bahaha who doesn't love a friendly reach around?

The r-magic lights are too aggressive for a 99 spec front end, maybe if you had a mazdaspeed or aggressive lip on the 99 front end.

I am also not a huge 99 spec fan, just like the perfect fitment, the urethane construction, and it's ability to take a bit of abuse with the flexible front lip. Otherwise, I would definitely go for a different front end.

Also, I am trying to build my car to compete in the TX mile and I don't want a bunch of large openings everywhere catching air and creating drag. We'll see...I love those lights, so I am kind of building around the headlights.

just a fyi, the lights aren't that great in person, they have fitment issues and IMO the screws holding the plexi glass in are ugly as sin.

I don't mind the screws....and I would hope that the fitment could be fixed. I've never seen them on a car where the fitment looked too off, so obviously some adjustments can be made during installation. I just like how they are a sleek light allowing me more clearance underneath them for pipe routing, but they don't look like one giant piece of plastic on the top of the car like the most sleek lights. I like that they look 80% like a stock pop up. Do you have a set for sale btw?

Another possible (and inexpensive) solution is grab a used set of evo-r's and paint the cover to look the way the R-Magics (and I believe the Attains) look. Seriously...paint or get some vinyl wrap and it will give it that same, aggressive low profile. Another member did this recently.

Also if you haven't seen it, check Ruler Mark's Digicamo Build thread. He's done some interesting things with sleek lights and such.

Got pics of the "other member" who did this recently?

I just went and looked at Ruler Mark's build...dude has definitely went through some lights, but I personally don't like any of them. But it was creative for sure.

I can get a new non-hid set straight from rmagic for 1750 shipped.

Thanks for taking the time to do that. The R-magic and 99spec looks a bit off, I agree. So I guess I need to look for a different front bumper, since those are still my favorite sleek lights.

You could possibly make the 99 spec more aggressive using canards.

Just add Feed side skirts and RE race diffuser to complete the look. A more aggressive lip might be needed as well.
