Classic car insurance experience?

Classic car insurance experience?
I was looking through some old threads and it seemed like a lot of people either recommended Hagerty or American Collectors and was just wondering if anyone had any experience as far as after any accidents or any other misfortunes and how easy/difficult it was to deal with them at that point. I'm mostly looking for experience with Hagerty, since I don't qualify for American Collectors, but would like to hear all experiences.
I've currently been with State Farm for over 10 years now, but looking for something else to insure the FD with. It's looking like I'll most likely have to go with Hagerty, though. Seems like American Collectors won't insure you unless you have a fairly newer car for a daily, and my daily is a year older than my FD.

I have Hagerty on mine, I haven’t had any actual need for it yet *knocks on wood* but basically they told me you can insure it for whatever you want and obviously if you were to wreck it they pay whatever you have it insured for to fix it. Mine is insured for 22k but you can insure it for whatever amount you want. All up to you, but obviously you pay more for the higher insurance value

I've been looking around a bit. Those are also the two big names that have come back in my searches. Both gave me quotes and American Collectors was lower. Did you call American Collectors? I've spoken with different representatives three times to ask questions and follow up on stuff. None mentioned any issues about insuring my '94 FD.

Grundy is another option; I've actually been exchanging emails with them regarding their definition of "pleasure" driving and received the following email.
Grundy's quoted rate was much lower than the other two mentioned above. As soon as my newly purchased CYM arrives, I'll be insuring it and my Supra with Grundy.

Thanks for sharing; I’m going to get a quote from them, as well. I like that one can drive a car under their policy to work. Grundy is verify specific on not allowing that with their policy (at least what I was told/quote).
