Any advice on reducing exhaust smell fume?

Can someone correct me if I am wrong?
Barring any exaust leak in the system, isnt the tail pipe the only place exhaust fumes will be present?

I am working to remove exhaust smell from the car as much as possible. So far
1. I Routed the wastegate into midpipe, then out the back
2. Looking to route BOV out to intake behind the air filter (would this introduce oily air mixture into the turbo?)

Are there any other things i can do to remove as much exhaust fumes other than at the tail pipe?

Thanks

Are you turning your BOV into a recirculating valve? There is no exhaust gas in the air when the bov is opened. It's fresh air. Do you have a cat? Without a cat, your car will stink no matter what.

Yes, thats my plan. I thought bov vents air mixed w exhaust...?

Forgot to mention, Yes I do have a HF Cat. It makes the exhaust smell a bit like burning insulation. Do other Cats have similar smell?

So as long as I have no leak, and have wastegate going to exhaust pipe, there shouldnt be anything leaving the oil/fuel mixture smell?

If I can make my FD smell less, it would make things so much better...

you may have an oil leak under the hood that is dripping onto hot exhaust parts.

The BOV will not contribute to any stink. If oil is coming out of the BOV it could be turbo seals going out.

A good high flow cat should get rid of most if not all of the stink. It will likely be stinkier when the car is stone cold in the morning since the car runs richer at that point. The exhaust smell should be most noticeable standing behind the car - if you have other smells as ArghX suggested you could have an oil or coolant leak somewhere contributing to the smell.

Unfortunately you can't send smells over the internet. You may need to ask some other car guys, they may be able to trace down what you're smelling so you can fix it. I can easily tell by smell if there's a coolant leak, oil leak, oil burning, etc.

Thanks for the info. I am glad I wont have to mod the BOV.

I believe Main culprit for the smell was the Wastegate, which I had just recently routed to go out the tail pipe. There are No oil leaks so I guess a good steam wash will remove any remnants of the wastegate vented dirty exhaust and remove the smell from it.

If it truly smells like burning insulation, inspect around the exhaust to make sure body insulation or interior mat padding is not getting too hot and charring. If it is, maybe a heat shield is missing which could cause a fire.
