KaiFD3S ....very nice...!!

 

I know one of them is in my Sig. The other one with the girl didn't come out that great. I had hoped the model would of been better looking. I actually think my FD made her look better..!! But I'll post a larger version for your viewing enjoyment..!!

 

Finally got some pics of the RX-7 I picked up 2 weeks ago. 48000 miles all stock.

 

these pics are about 3 yrs old but for the most part the car is the same except the wheels and engine work the last one is a bit more recent

Very nice black OEM '99 wheels. Did you get them powercoated black or buy them factory OEM black? I know certain japan-only FD editions had black '99 wheels.

I didnt know that they had an OEM black version! I thought it was just silver and bronze? Mine were silver but i had them sprayed in a flattened version of brilliant black enamel. The place i work for supplies 90% of the body shops on island with materials so my car is one of the companies "show pieces" paint wise.

 

Yah, I'm looking at my japanese FD brochure now actually. From what I can tell in brochure (japanese kanji words, photos, and numbers), the black '99 wheels appeared on the '97 Type RS-R models in Brilliant Black and Sunburst Yellow. I don't have all the brochures but I have this particular one. FYI, '99 in japan isn't the same with '99 USA generalization = '96 + '99 JDM oem upgrades...I guess due to most notable stuff updated in '99? Maybe someone chime in for clairfication?

Other than that, yes, I really like yoru ride. Keep up the great paint job and mods.

Here's are updated pics of my FD! Me and a friend slapped on the 99 bumper yesterday. I got the whole shibang 99 brake/oil ducts, 99 undertray, and 99 rebar.

^ Gene...that is HOT! Wow...your car was already killer but that new '99 bumper adds so much more. It's amazing all of that is still OEM body lines and still looks the BEST car today being 13+ years old.

BTW, Gene and Kai, I can do your signatures too for ya if ya like.

rx7rage dont know why but I liked your car better with the 93 front bumper.. everything seemed to flow better, you kept the old school look but it was done to the t. still nice jus liked the old front better w/ ur hood and sideskirts

yea, a couple people expressed to me already that they liked my car better with the old school bumper. It does seem to run cooler now with water temps not going over 83C where as before, it would go to 88C. I guess all that extra air coming into the radiator helps.

 

Nah no way, the old school bumper makes the FD look like a miata.

I think gene's FD looks 1000x better with the 99 front. Quite simply the best looking VR on this forum IMO.
