Zenki Turbo & Kouki Turbo ??

I did a search but found nothing specific to my question.

I've seen these names thrown around, simply, is the Zenki Turbo the series 4 and the Kouki turbo the s5??? Both are Hitachi arn't they? Is this just a Japanese Turbo name for them or something?

I read the Zenki turbo (s4?) stock boost is around 5psi and the Kouki is around 7.5 (s5?)...but anymore than 1psi over that figure and you'll reach fuel cut...??

Thanks, that cleared up alot already. I'm not sure on the figures, but what I stated came from a site that was posted on this board in the reference link section.

I really wish people would quit using those Japanese terms, all they does is confuse.

Anyway, stock max boost on S4 is 6.6psi (not 5.5) and S5 is 8.3psi. Fuel cut is at 8.6psi, and AFAIK this is for all models. That's where it is on my S4 anyway.

zenki refers to earlier (model) and kouki refers to later (model)
you'll see this thrown around tons on nissan boards for instance zenki s14 (round eye) and kouki s14 (shark eye)

Luckily we've come up with a much easier and less confusing way to distinguish between different models than the Nissan guys have.

that whole site in general is a mountain of useful resource and information to fc's, so i recommend browsing it.
