yup.. more TII problems

well i just bought a 87 TII, the guy sed he rebuilt it and it has about 1000 miles on the engine. it has a walbro fuel pump with a cut-off switch. problem is sumtimes the car will just shut off if left idling for a while. then i have to flip the switch and let it unflood and all that good stuff. also after the 1st time i turned off the car, it is making a grinding noise like from the starter when i crank it. any idea what this it? the car has all emissions removed and just about evrything except what the car needs to run is removed. and the car also cranks like it has no battery. but evry battery i try it cranks like that too. any idea??

Sell it at a loss and be done with it. Unless you want a money pit hobby. Hope you didn't spend more than 150 bucks for it.

I have the grinding problem when my car stalls out sometimes too. Just turn the key to the off position, leave it for about 5 seconds before trying to turn it over, and it should not grind.

Does the idle bog out at all?

Also, what od you mean by it cranks like it has no battery? Like, it sounds like it is dying? Check your alternator if this is the case. I have a weak alternator, and if I have to try to start my car a couple of times I can pretty much drain the battery without any problem.

This is a good guess. Have your timing checked too.
