wtf doesnt my speedometer work

wtf doesnt my speedometer work

i guess its not really a big deal but i would still like to know how fast im going and how many miles im putting on the car. i just got this 88 t2 and the speedo doesnt work. ive tried 2 cables, 2 gauge clusters and still nothing. what am i missing? is it the tranny?

Given that you've replaced the other two major parts of the system (cable and gauge itself) the only thing left would be the drive gear in the transmission.

aint to terribly hard to fix just takes a lil bit of time XD rolly a few hours of dedicated work if you have exp with transmissions

yeah the tailhousing cover thats all really you might have to drop the tranny mount to get alil more room though

mmmmm dunno really on the manual part i know its in dealership shop manuals if you can get your hand on one but most likely it is the drive gear on the output shaft in the tranny if youve done all the other
