Would it run if...

Would my 87' TII run if I had no boost sensor or how about the vaccum line missing from the sensor but it still plugged in to the wiring. Thanks for any reply's.

Well would it hurt to leave these things were they are? I'd imagine it would run like ****.

When I bought the car it had been stripped of AC an heater but when the kid did it he either moved the boost sensor to a place I cannot find it or it isn't there. So I am trying to figure out which of the two it is

If the pressure sensor has been unplugged, the ecu will assume a default amount of about 4 pounds at all times.

If the pressure sensor is plugged in, but the vacuum line is open then it would just read atmospheric pressure.

In both cases the car should run.

i just looked at my 87 tII and the sensor wiring goes into a lager loom of wires right near the boost sensor's stock location. so unless he custom wired it straight to the ecu the wiring should be easy to find. also with the boost sensor unplugged the ecu goes to default of 4.5 psi positive (i think thats the figure). supposedly guys in japan would unplug them on purpose to run high boost with no fuel cut defender. so yes it should still run. do a compression check! or at least pull the leading plugs and listen if you have even pulses of compression, if it doesn't start.

Well I drove it for the first time last night and was very suprised because it ran really well and very strong the turbo spooled from about 3k-7k and it pulled much harder from 5-7k but I have no boost gauge so I don't know how to check the boost. P.S. I have a friend with a boost gauge who would let me barrow it but I don't know where I should hook it up. I was thinking from the bottom of the intercooler bu tother than that I just don't know. Any help is appreciated thanks

There is a spare nipple on the UIM, or if your emissions rack is still in just tee in a line that goes from the ACV to the stock pressure sensor.

when my vacuum line from the pressure sensor was cracked the car would not hold an idle. It would stall unless you held the gas down (not so difficult to drive once you learn how). Unless you can push 3 pedals at once don't drive it like that!
