Wont start when warm

My father in law has a 1991 that is all stock. We rebuilt the motor, new gaskets, bearings, apex seals. We put it back together and to started and ran with no problems but now it wont start after it is warm. We have good spark, we also tested the wires, the ignition coils for resistance and they all test good.

We also tried a new TPS and same thing.

It will start no problem when cold. Fires right up but it just turns over and over when warm. I was wondering if someone else have had this problem and fixed it, or if someone knows what it could be.

Thanks

i had this issue when i picked up my car. PO had the engine rebuilt and replaced fuel components until i traced it back to be a bad fuel pump. would start no problem cold, but when warm it would not go. makes no sense..but that is what it was!

Typical problem with these cars when they have low compression is a no/hard start when warm. So you might have some issues with the motor. Not a bad idea to check the fuel pressure though.

Low compression. When you rebuild a rotary engine and you use old housings that are not in really decent shape you get this problem. You have 2 run the engine for a couple k miles and wait for the new seals 2 adjust 2 the old housings, sometimes the problem go away after you break the engine in and sometimes it will never get any good and the engine wont make good power and suffer from hot start issues.

try pulling main fuel line off under hood, fuel will spray a bit, but if car tries to start you have a flooding issue, might try installing a fuel cut off switch, if this works

I will check the fuel suggestions. as far as the compression suggestions the compression is good. both rotor housings were good i checked all that when we rebuilt the motor. It did this before i rebuilt the motor too, it was rebuilt because we thought maybe it spun a bearing. but no bearing was spun but still replaced them to be safe.

Lots of hot-start information here: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/looking-car-has-hot-start-problems-499744/.

Mazda's start-up fuel map is very rich under "hot" conditions. When combined with anything but like-new compression, it can lead to difficulty starting.
