a/c or alternator problem

ok my problem on my 90 gxl
i think my a/c may be seizing but not sure.
i had it flushed and charge once with freeze 12 and didnt work.
took it somewhere else and flushed charged with good ol r12 and works but the guy told me it wasnt going to last and it will eventually lose the charge.
it blows cold for now and all but my main problem is that when i brake with the a/c on the car stalls.
and even without the brake on the idle wonders like crazy.
this has been a problem since i got the car.
whenever i brake though idle and voltage seems to drop.
but when testing voltage output from the alternator it checks out.
havent checked the amp output though.

another reason i think it may be seizing is that it actually did the other day.
started the car, turned on a/c, and went inside to get something.
come outside with smoke coming from the hood and a loud scratch (very loud) about every second.
didnt look as i immediately turned the car off but pretty sure it seized.

i really love daily driving my 7 but these minor problems are starting to really annoy me.

You need to check the BAC which helps the idle from dropping too low when the A/C is turned on. You could tell whether or not the compressor was seized for the clutch part of the unit will not turn when the A/C is on. Look at which part of the compressor moves when the A/C isn't on when the engine is running and then turn on the A/C and look at it again and see if more of the compressor is spinning or not as this will tell you if it is seized or not.

i know the a/c is not seized but can it be seizing?
i noticed one vacuum hose has broken off on the BAC side of the engine bay but forgot to take a picture and see what it was.
will do tomorrow.

Is the A/C belt frayed or torn in any way? If so then the clutch on the compressor is locking up. As far as the mechanic telling you that the charge is not going to last. The only way that will happen is if there is a leak in the system. They are supposed to leak test the system before and after servicing the A/C.

i did an a/c delete in my car so if you need parts just let me know. i'm local

and by the way i have 2 compressors and one pulley spins very easy and keeps spinning for some time on its own. but the other one is hard to spin and stops almost as soon as i take my hands of. maybe thats something you should look at too.

just for reference the a/c compressor looks like this

http://www.rx-7.com/store/rx7/FCacCompressor.html
notice how the pulley doesn't look like a standard one.
