Won't start
Won't start
I have an '88 GTU nonturbo that won't start. The starter has gone from a pulsing sound to almost a linear sound. I put in new spark plugs. The engine is not flooded, I turned it over for several seconds w/o the egi fuse, then took out the sparkplugs and blasted whatever was in the engine out. I had to change the oil pressure sender, but that seems to be in there fine...
Two side notes: My new NKG spark plugs all have the letter T on them, whereas the old ones have T on two and L on two... leading and trailing. I'm thinking this may be a problem, however they sent them to me this way so it may be a coincidence (sp). Also, the blue wires that go to the two top spark plugs. Which goes on the left and which on the right?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Well, I'm running all traling NGK plus. The only thing different abotu them is the heat rating. They won't cause the engine to not run, period. They may wear out faster/slower, but the point is they will still spark and get the engine to run. There is no size difference or anyhting like that.
Personaly I'd say if you had **** spew out of the engine when you turned over w no sparkplugs, I'd say you're flooded as hell.
Get the battery charger on it and keep trying. I remember it took about a half hour of cranking to get my 90 n/a started from a flood one time. I'd suggest making a fuel cut switch so you won't have to bother with pulling that fuse all the time.

Stock wires were colored per the plugs iirc. Any aftermarket plug doesn't have that lovely feature. The plug's destinations are noted on the coils. It will say T1, T2, trailing one, trailing two respectfuly.
T= Trailing = top of engine
L= Leading= lower of engine
Gotta love mazda engineers for that one.
