Actually their is no real difference between the 2nd gens and the 3rd gens, I heard that the 2nd gens are faster because they have the more powerful 12A motor in them.

ok disregard dan carwin's message

but i would guess-timate about 1200-1500 for that package

and yes the 2nd and 3rd gen engines are different, one the 3rd gen (not all of them) had dual sequential turbos and puts out roughly 255hp while the TII 2nd gens around 180~200hp. two, the mounts are different and there some more differences but im not to sure of it

all our third gens were twin turbo.
he never said turbo or n/a for the 87. if n/a, they hardly compare other than being 2 rotor engines; if turbo, there's still many differences.
the blocks are different strengths (personally, i can't get into details with this), the bearings are different, the corner seals are different (not sure about other seals), the rotors are different, the compression is different, the ports are different, where the mounts bolt are different; thats all i can think of for the block only which disregards intake manifold, exhaust manifold, turbo setup and ecu.

my main reason for asking was because I like to explore more about rotary engine...I am very fluent with push rod engine (Ford). Currently, I have a 94 FD and just wonder if the 13B n/a would be rebuildable as a spare for the FD.

Sound like it is not compatible...

Thanks.
