I was looking things over in my engine bay of my 87 turbo ii and noticed this connection had been severed, any clue to the purpose of it i have no idea?
ive looked in the forums and service manual but i cant seem to find anything
No it isnt either of those two things, im troubled at what it is. Its connected to a silver chunk of metal near where the oil filler neck connects to the engine

Sounds like the condensor in the oil pressure gauge circuit.
Better pictures
i removed the uim to get better pictures while i clean the engine down. Any ideas what the wires are for
So the connector in the first pic was connect to that silver thing by the oil fill tube, and the black wire from the enging harness was cut from the connector.
Any clues or explanation of what purpose that serves would be appreciated
