question o2 sensor???

I was looking under my hood today and i noticed that my 02 sensor isnt even connected. The wire goes out of it and to a clip but then from the clip the wire looks almost like it was cut, can anyone tell me where that wire might possibly go because i couldn't figure it out?? thanx.

There is a single lead from the engine-side wiring harness that it would connect to. I forget the color but look for a single wire that either matches the cut or terminates into a small black connector hanging in the breeze.

Mine comes out of the harness near the alternator pivot bolt.

The connector for the O2 sensor should be on the passenger side firewall. Just above and outboard of the O2 sensor itself.

The wire in the harness is a shielded cable. It's not just a thin strand like the wire coming out of the sensor. It has an outer covering, shield, covering, then the wire in the center. They will usually break where the shielded cable begins. Dig into the harness slightly.

o2 sensor

The connector is from the engine harness. It comes out from under the Upper intake manifold near the middle of the car but in back by the firewall, at least on an 87 NA. The connector on the sensor side is green, the harness side is white. It may be hard to find if someone cut it and stuffed it under the manifold.
