wiper range of movement......

Ok I noticed this when it rained last week in town and I don't think its correct but I may be wrong. I was using my wipers but they do not move as far as the ones in my 87 do. Are S5's wipers different than S4's? The only thing I can really think of is that it has an S4 wiper motor but I can't see any outwardly apparant differences from the S5's motor on my TII. Its really annoying not having the normal cleared area by the wipers. Where should I start to look for a problem/solution?

Another problem

Ok now another problem has come out. If I am using the wipers when I got to turn them off they lock in the on position usually in SPEED II and keep going even though the switch is to OFF. After 5-10 minutes of driving they will shut down on their own.

I have the same problem. If it has been raining hard or I have just washed my car, the wipers will go nuts in the OFF position, but if I set it to " l " they will go that speed. Also mine tend to every once in a while to too far and goes off the car, so somethings definetely wrong...

Check the wiring and connectors near the firewall for exposed contacts, or any other pathways water can enter the motor and/or connectors, and seal those bad boys up with some silicone...

Santiago- are you sure the arms are positioned properly on the driveshaft? If they go too far one way or the other, pull the bolt, yank that sucker up off the shaft, and reposition it (mark it first before you pull it, or you may screw yourself even worse)...

The switch could explain the funky electrical problems, but not the wiper blade range of motion, I would think...

gonna bump this up so I can find it easier. I haven't been able to check the arm off the motor yet but the wierdest thing happened. The wipers did a few full strokes every now and then. I am thinking it is a wiring problem somewhere along the line. I suck at wiring ****. Is there anyway to test the relay in the switch?
