On a S4 you just worm the wrench down in there. I usually seat the plug wrench, and then connect the socket driver to it (easier than worming everything in at once). Crack the plugs loose, and just turn them until you can turn them by hand, get your hand down there, spin it out, reverse to install.

I suggest letting the engine cool before you try this. Really. It hurts otherwise.

make sure you install them correctly otherwise your car will not run right......there should be some makrs on the plugs themselves saying Leading or Trailing.

I did plugs on an Expedition once with my friend, it sucked total ***.. The mechanic that changed them before only changed the 4 that were easily accessible. lol.. I wouldn't bother using two different heat ranges, I just run the colder plugs all the way around.

Mine are simple too!

Trailing is on top...T-1 is top LEFT plug when standing near the driver fender. t-2 is top RIGHT. and L-1 is Lower left, L-2 lower right.

When you're putting the plugs back in, make sure you snug them up securely, but don't over tighten. The absolute LAST thing you want is a stripped out spark plug hole, i dont even think there is a remedy for that
