I read through this thread on this mod, but I don't see what it is suppose to do really for the car. Is this gonna fix the slow up/down speed? I remember reading the other mod a while back and just haven't gotten to that yet, but it would be nice.

Sweet! I will be ordering 2 more for my girlfriends car.

Keeps your window switches from burning up.

My apologies,

Do you mind elaborating on this? Which wires are connected on switch and motor side, or should we just splice in the violet wire to the entire black/red?

Hey man I just got done doing my driver side door on my fc. I plugged it all back in and then connected my neg terminal to the battery and was rolling up and down my passenger side window from the driver's side switch. But I could only roll up my driver's side window, with the driver's side switch, I couldn't roll it down. I noticed when I tried to roll it down the light in the door panel would dim. Now the drivers side switch and passenger's side stopped working. Did I **** up by not doing the passenger's side and messing with it before finishing up the passengers?

Motor side, Green/black going to red/black wire and Blue/Black to green/black

All of these are going to a ground

Small Green going to Red/Black and Small Blue going to Green/Black

I think that may be a general comment on some people's wiring abilities. But, that is purely just my guess.

Soldered wires are underneath there. Anyway I checked what should be the power window fuse and that is fine but I did notice that another fuse is out, a 30A fuse for what looks to be the seat belts but it might be a different fuse, this **** is in japanese....and maybe the JDM fc has a different layout for the fuses?

Not sure if that would affect it, IF it is in fact the seat belt fuse. I'll be getting a new 30A fuse tomorrow.

Maybe my switch got fried. It is 25 years old.

I also swapped in a new relay by crimping on bullet connectors onto the wires and then plugging them onto female connectors onto a different 451m. That way it is modular and can easily be replaced with a new 451m.

Lol my wiring abilities, I may not be the best at wiring but I don't think my solder joints are the issue here. "That cheap electrical tape" Is 3M electrical tape. What other tape do you suggest?

I just finished installing the relay for the driver's side a couple weeks ago. I swapped in an early 90s MPV window switch at the same time since I was tired of having to replace switches. Pretty straight forward process and works perfect. When I get around to the passenger side door, I'll snap some pictures of both doors for others to see. Pictures always help me visualize the process.

Thanks OP!

fixed. Realized, what I fucked up. I didn't put the purple wire in the Black/Red and put it in the Red/Black. That was my bad.

I am redoing my wiring because I didn't use heat shrink. You can see that I cut the relay and add female bullet connections to the relay and I will solder in the other side. This way in case I need to change the relay I don't have to retouch the wiring. Is this the "proper" way to do it?

Thanks. Wired up the drivers side and it works, and rolls up and down the driver's side window, HOWEVER, it does not roll up or down the passengers side. Thought the reason for this was b/c I didn't do the passenger's side yet. SO i did the passengers side.

Did the passengers side,
White/Black Relay wire is grounded.
Brown/Black Relay wire is grounded.
Red Small is grounded.

Green Small is going to Red/White (SWITCH side)
Blue Small is going to Green/White (SWITCH side)
Green/Black is going to Red/White (MOTOR Side)
Blue/black is going to Green/White (MOTOR side)
Violet is going to black/blue

However, the passenger's switch does not work. There are no blown fuses, and the motor does go up and down, when I give it power/ground, (disconnected from the switch ofc). I did notice that on mine the motor is connected to the Red/Black and Green/Black wire's and not the Red/White and Green/White. When everything is connected and I am clicking the switch up and down, the relay makes a clicking noise but nothing happens. Any ideas?

I'm wondering if this issue is b/c it is a japanese fc. The wiring seems to be the same though, for the rhd or lhd, just flip flopped?

It is definitely the switch. Opened up my switch and the contact points are burnt. Anyway to repair this? I bought 2 spares, but, I'd like to fix it right now if possible. Any cleaning product for copper contact points?

Cleaned the contacts with alcohol but that didn't do much. It is still not working and is still black. Anything else I can use?

Fine (1000-2000 grit) sandpaper works well
