Will these rub...

I am looking into a set of rims with tires for my fc and am curious if you think these will rub...

LUG PATTERNS: 4 LUG (4X114.3) & 5 LUG (5X114.3)

FRONT: 17" X 8 OFFSET +35
TOYO TRAMPIO 235/45ZR17 70% TREADS

REAR: 17" X 9 OFFSET +38
DUNLOP FM901 255/40R17 70% TREADS

Right now it will be on a completely stock suspension...

i'm running that size up front and it almost rubs with coilovers and 215/45/17. you might want to go with a +30. in the rear i would go to at least a +30 too maybe even closer to +25.

i think bigger wheels tend to look funny on stock suspension because you don't have any way to adust the hight. and you might get more responses in the susp/wheel/tire section.

Fronts.. the offest is cool, but the tires will most definately rub the stock suspension..

I'm running Kuhmo MX 215 45 r17's up front on +38's and i'm about 1/2 inch off the coilsprings with the sidewall

the the rear... if you don't hit the trailing arm, i'd be highly suprised

those are 245/45/r17s on a 8.5 inch rim +39... A 255/40 is wider yet.. and you are adding .5 inch to the wheel width, which will push the sidewall out about a 10th more per side.... it'd be reeeeeeaaall close....

Rims will work with different tires...

I'm running 235x40x17 up front and 245x40x17 in the rear.

I woudl recommend a 40 instead of 45 sidewall. It may give a better clearance. I think it's a little closer to stock wheel ratio as well. 245x40x17 is a perfect rear fit and matches the stock ratio so the speedo will be perfect.

I used a 5mm spacer in the front to get it to 35+ offset.I have almost enough room to slide my pinky finger through. I'd say a normal size cd case might barely make it or will snag.

So far I've only rubbed on hard turn compressions. Other than that they're great.

Not smaller tires but with correct offset and keeping the aspect ratio the same as stock.

well then i guess i am a little confused is there a way to correct the offset with spacers? ie if you use a 5mm space does a 30 offset become 35 or 25? am i even close?

+30 becomes +25 with a 5mm spacer.

I have 17x8 +25 up fromt with a 225/45/17 tire, and I have 17x9 +35 out back with a 245/45/17 series tire.

I have no rubbing problems.

i got my spacers from summit racing and i wouldn't touch anything above a +35 offset.

you don't want to be too far off either because if you don't like how it looks and want to run a 10mm or larger spacer you're going to have to change your wheel studs. now that's a pia.

so what is the largest spacer you can run without having to use longer wheel studs?

on the stock wheel studs... others may disagree but i wouldn't use anything larger than a 5mm spacer.
