Will drag slicks eliminate wheel hop ?

Hello I have a s5 turbo and it currently has stock suspension so it can squat off the line, I dont have too much power im in the 350whp range, but I have never raced it in the dragstrip, with old street tires the car hops if I drop the clutch or if I shift to 2nd hard, so my question is if I put on some 26x8.5 15 slicks in the back will it eliminate my wheel hop when I take it to the track? Thanks

More traction will help. The problem is the rubber bushings in the subframe, trailing arms and diff. Removing those will solve the wheel-hop problem.

Careful launching hard on slicks, you will find the next weak link. You could also just get some good wider summer tires (summer tires not all season) summer only tires generally aren't rated below 45* outside and do grip better in warm weather.

If anyone reading this also rides motorcycles, motorcycle tires are also generally not rated below 45* and lower temps can and will cause you to not grip hard acceleration I almost downed my bike because of this I'm more careful in cool weather now. - that goes for car tires too!
