wideband thread question

wideband thread question

Will a bosch wideband thread into the stock 02 hole?

Yes - but the stock hole is too close to the exhaust ports and will overheat and kill a wideband sensor.

Move it 3 feet downstream.

I saw a thread here somewhere with a link to a site that sells just the threaded o2 "bung" that can be welded anywhere along the exhaust pipe. I would find the link for ya but I'm off to work

The corksport downpipe has it about a foot and half away from the turbo is that still to close?

I don't have the sensor yet, I can get the bung in a kit with the sensor. But thanks anyways.

just drill a hole, and weld the bung in there. thats what im doing.

This is most likley for the stock o2 sensor. Still, you should keep your wideband o2 further down stream.

Yeah thats whats in their right now, but thats not what I'm asking.

Any other comments on whether or not its too close.

Depends on the sensor. The bosch sensors are not tolerant at all to heat. I use the more expesnive NTK sensors. They are far more reliable, and can be mounted directly behind the turbo with no ill effects.

The AEM kit uses a Bosch and recommends 18" down stream from the turbo.
