need opinion on 88 TII I'm looking to buy

Here's what the guy has listed. I'm looking for opinions on what to offer the seller? What kind of HP could I be looking at? Gas mileage? Reliability? Anything else you want to add.

He also said that under full boost (I don't know how much boost) that the car hesitates somewhat. I'm thinking it may be fuel cut. Didn't mention anything about it smoking (still have to ask) so the seals should be ok. He says it drives fine and a day to day driver if your not under full boost like that. He lives about an hour from me, but I don't want to drive out there if this sounds like a major problem, or if any of the parts below are known to cause problems. He says the owner before him had all of this professionaly done. The pics I saw, the car looks to be nearly perfect condition in and out. Car only has 75k on it. I know not driving it is bad for the rotary engine, so I don't know how much it sits around. It also says its a JDM.

i'm not thinking it'd be the fuel cut since its quite the modded car, fuel cut will hit if you go more than 1.5psi over the stock levels. sounds like it might be a tuning issue since with extra injectors it should be getting enough fuel. i'd also find out exactly how much the full boost is that he's been trying to push and having problems. just my not incredibly educated 2 cents

gas mileage probably around 20 driving without getting on it a lot. HP depends on boost. reliable....not so much since its having "injectors" problem. but it can be a little problem.

A tuning problem has crossed my mind after posting...I guess that could turn into a costly problem with diag. time and repair, hard to say. How much do you think a reasonable offer would be for this car? I don't think the guy knows what he has, he's the second owner...he said he really doesn't know what the cars worth! The condition is nearly perfect from the pics. So based on the upgrades and mileage...what would some of you guys offer??

what kind of power options does it have? i just picked up a VERY clean 88 TII a few months back for 5,500. new engine with a series 5 turbo on it. so i'm guessing it would depend on how clean the car is inside and out and paint quality. either way i'd still say that you should take a look at it first. i've never been able to buy a car without first seeing it for myself

Oh, I will def. go take a look at it , if he accepts my offer first...when I come up with one. (This would be my first 7). I'm not exactly sure what to offer up first. He's about 1-1.5 hours away, so if he says no, or something isn't checking out right through conversation, I'm trying not to go waste my time and gas!
