i am replacing the fronts with yokoham avs db v2 (same as the rear) and the current ones on the front are a little close for comfort to the springs but i do not see any signs of rubbing. when i get them off to replace my rotors i will be able to tell.

I have 225 yokohama avs intermediates on the front with kyb agx struts, and they do rub. Its not that bad, but its definitly more than I'd like.

On the plus side, the tires are amazing. Didn't think anything could make that much of a difference in handling.

My Kuhmo 712's in the front sound like they rub...but only while turning ALL the way to the right.

why would you want 225/55 ? that is bigger diameter then stock. 225/50 is the same. 225/55 would probably rub.

i have a set of 225-50-16 Hoosiers but they arent mounted on my stock wheels yet. i do know they will rub a bit even w/ my Cusco Comp Zeros so i have a pair of 5mm spacers(5/16 inches. Part number MRG-2371 from Summit).

I had turbo wheels on my 87 with 225/50/16's
I had to grind about 1/8" off the outboard lip of the front spring perch for clearance.

The rim/wheel decide how wide tires you can fit on your car, not suspension. I've fitted 225 width on stock wheels, nothing wider. If you're talking about height, then the sky's the limit.

I'm running Cusco Comp2 sus with Volk 57C with 235/45/R17 F and 255/45/R17 R. They work great. Just get the right offset.

My tii rims have 225/45/16 on them. I probably wouldnt go any wider than this. If you are still spinning the tires you need better rubber, not wider.

You'll be fine with 225's. I run 245/50/16 in the rear on stock rims and they seldom rub.

i got some kumho 225/50/16ss on my stock 89 tII wheels and i still got soem room left. i could probably go with some 235s with minor rubbing. i tried 245s but they rubbed like a son of a bitch with the car in the air so i didnt even try to bolt them up and lower it back down.
