where to JDM?
I know some guys think that JDM motors are the root of all evil, but i dont want to have to send my core and wait for some one to rebuild it. there is no one in michigan (that i know of) that rebuilds these engines so i would have to send it out of state. so i want to order a jdm engine insted so i can just swap the cores off of my 87 TII. tell me what you guys think and were would be the most relible place to get them.

There is no reliable place.
A JDM engine is a gamble. Take the compression and be sure you have more than 100 PSI in each rotor.
After that, the only thing you have to worry about is that the engine has good coolant seals...and you will only know when you start it.
Mine is perfect. 8.0 kg/cm2 in front rotor and 7.5 kg/cm2 in rear rotor. Thats almost like new....But I did go see 11 engines before I bought this one....And even then, I didn't know if my seals were good.
Its a gamble. So good luck.

When you buy a JDM engine, you will most likely have to get it rebuilt. So, rebuild yours, or buy another one and rebuild that it. No telling how long that motor has been beat on and/or sitting in a junk yard.

not only that but think about it, they replace there motors at like 50k right? so if you were in japan wouldn't you beat the **** outta that motor because you know it's only gotta last like 40-50k anyway??? and then your wanting to buy a a motor someone has totally just beat on cause they don't have to worry about high mileage

dude your in sacramento go to the mazda recyclers over in rancho cordova. they have everything, or just look around on craigslist. buying a jdm motor isn't bad aslong as you understand it should probably be rebuilt before installing. they do usually come with the tranny, and all the other stuff which is nice, but most people buy them thinking they can just drop them in and have no problems
