You "ordered" your four rotor but don't know where to source some drivetrain stuff?

to handle 2000HP you're goign to need a solid axle. Ford 9inch built.

Ok if you're gonna' try and do it on stock parts (mostly) you'll need at LEAST a kaaz 2 way some beefy *** driveshaft shop axles and try and possibly source arp fasteners for everything? I don't even know if arp makes that stuff.

well things don’t always go as you thought. I put a deposit down on a turnkey 4 rotor and a few weeks later I get the money back with a message saying sorry we're not able to complete your custom 4 rotor.... due to lack of supplies. my response...lack of supplies???? what all of a sudden rotary parts are hard to get???? I don’t think so. whatever now they wont answer my e-mails, but at least I got my money back.

as for all you asking my how I knew where to buy a 4 rotor but not the drive train to handle it, my answer is yes. when I was looking up 4 rotors I came across a company in NZ. so I talked to someone there and found out I had the money. however I didn’t know of a good source for drive train parts, so obviously that’s why I asked it on the forums. thanks

just for those who wanted the short version... no more 4 rotor for now.

So you ordered a 4 rotor kit from Kiwi-RE and they canceled your order? OR did you actually order a fully built 4 rotor engine from them and they canceled that?

Did they say what part(s) they couldn't get?

No, it wasn't Kiwi (tho I should have tried them first). It was sombody's rotary racing something.

Sooo what place was this? You were about to buy a 4-rotor turn key engine, how is it even possible to not know who you were giving a LARGE sum of money to?

Building an airplane??? Im asuming this is a track car if this project gets done. You must keep us updated if you go with this project 4 rotor FC.........after you get the motor and figure out the entire drivetrain configuration. My vote is to use an old school first gen Rx-7 3 speed automatic tranny with civic del sol axles and driveshaft for that jet engine......j/k keep this thread updated if it continues!!!

Don't **** on the dream :P 4 Rotor is sweet NA music
You should try RE Kiwi in NZ or City Performace in AU. Both have the background to do something like this. If you are looking for drive shafts, www.driveshaftshop.com, this place might be able to help you. Althou if you are running the 4 rotor NA, the stock transmission might be able to hold up. With a heavy duty clutch of course.

wow...for those who are still thinking the project is a go, you missed the part where i said its not.

thanks for the info to those who gave help. and yes you can buy individual 4Rotor parts. the budget for everything was 25K.

as for you idiots who thought I sent money to someone I didnt know, and made a big deal out of it, then your dumber than you thought I was. (and thats pretty dumb) but it doesnt really matter who I sent the money to originally, cause I got all of my money back. so obviously they were trustworthy enough to do that uh?

oh and yeah I also think this thread should end, like I said no more 4Rotor for me for now. if I decide to go ahead with it I will probably just start a new thread call my 4rotor swap project or something like that.

thanks to SomeGuy for the support.

Don't get your panties up in a bunch. Is it my fault you failed to recall the name of the shop? No. I never said anything about how trustworthy they are, because it is obvious they are due to returning your money... I was actually more curious to know who they were because of that. Trustworthy Rotary shops are hard to find. Is it my fault you came off looking like a noob for throwing money into something like this without having done ANY research as to what drivetrain components you should use to handle the power? Nope.

A 4 rotor car takes ALOT of planning and a much bigger budget than $25K to really do it justice. $25k is even a small budget for a fully built 3-rotor build. Believe me I know, I'm doing one. If you do decide to go ahead with this project in the future please plan this stuff ahead more. It looks like you got a little excited and started purchasing stuff prematurely.
