Where to buy an Engine?
Hello My Name is Kenii Baker (26 year young) and I just got my first project/turner car. I'm just breaking into the turner scene I've been looking everywhere to find a 13B Turbo II engine, and I've had no luck. Every place I have asked doesn't have it or sells it without the wire or/both ECU.
So I'm asking you guys for help. Does anyone know any shops/sites....etc that sells a 13B Turbo II engine (with Wire and ECU)?
P.S. I'm in Az so shipping is not a problem for me....if needed.

Search Japan2LA (jspec importer) , lucky7, mazdatrix, rotary reliabilty and racing(rebuilders and parts suppliers),
Or, here's a thought. Look at the 2nd Gen classifieds. Right now, 5th from the top, this: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-rx-7-1986-1992-parts-194/complete-13b-re-swap-972662/

You could look on ebay. There are jdm engine importers who sell engines that come with alternator, turbo, tranny etc... all the stuff you need. Don't know if these places are reputable or not but just a thought. Japan2LA is a good seller on the forum so id check with him also. Look in the classifieds. That's where you should start first.

I really highly doubt I'm going to find a New engine so that's kinda out the picture, but used with low miles would be nice. I just got my first rx7 on Friday. Paid 1800 for it. Stage three transmission, Meth injection system, intercooler relocation, and a bunch of other crap...All I need is a decent engine to plug in.

Pay me 7K I make you one right now
seriously, look at the ads here, ask one of the vendors and see if they can build one for you. I would say try Mazmart.

about the only reputable engine importer left is Japan2LA, of which i would recommend picking up a complete Jspec swap from, after that i would recommend sending it to a rebuilder to have it rebuilt since Jspecs are not very reliable drop in motors but can make for good rebuildable cores.
best bet is to search out a TurboII car that is already complete, they are getting quite rare but swapping turbos into non turbo cars is a pain, i always see issues with them not done correctly or half assed with non turbo rear drivetrain components which will eventually break behind a turbo motor.
there is also another shop to the north of AZ called Rotary Evolution in vegas, v link below.
it is possible to still build a 100% complete new engine but you are going to be looking at about $6500 for the short block engine alone, then you still need the transmission, wiring harness, ECU and other misc items to make it run like AFM, pressure sensor, intake manifolds, exhaust, turbo, etc, etc, etc.
if the car already has an engine, send me a PM or call me. should be no reason to spend days/weeks looking for a motor if yours can be rebuilt.

HKS does offer an alternate transmission with different gearing and dog box, but the price tag if i remember correctly was about $7500. that would be the only stage above stock i would consider accurate. at least they used to, i can't find it listed any longer.

i guess it's not a dog box afterall but helical which is the same as the standard 5 speed. being a 6 speed box will weaken it also. not worth the money, also somewhere stated the price is $17k now after currency conversions.
