Welcome to the neighbourhood!
No offence, but this question gets asked about once a week. Searching will do wonders, especially when it comes to not annoying the old farts around here.
General consensus is to mod your exhaust first if you're after more power. Racing Beat's exhaust products are very popular.
If you want reliability mods, you can add ground wires and also wiring to mirror/support your charging system (good wire can get expensive, but the installation is a snap.)
Have a look here. This site is meant for turbo RX-7 owners, but much of the information also applies to the NAs.

Check out the sections below exhaust, and the 'air intake' page.

In order, based on having a non turbo:
Exhaust/Intake/Ignition
But first, concentrate on restoring your FC to factory specs. Meaning a full tune up and all repairing/replacing all failing components, should you have any. Follow this site and see what you could extract. http://wozzoo.tripod.com/

Well, this is where that nifty search button comes in handy.
Also look at this site: http://wozzoo.tripod.com/ and click on the tech info, then you can read about headers, catalytic converters, and mufflers. Good info here.

hook me up!! I need some cheap stuff
tell him to send me some turbos and FMIC's and I'll be glad to do some testing for him
racing beat is the best. and yes anything other then cat backs would fail a visial I think. which is why you swap the stock exhaust back in the day before
just changing a cat back won't give you any gains. you need to get rid of the cats at the front. with some headers and mid pipe or single high flow cat.
