Wheels... again...

I've been looking at some Mitsubishi GTO wheels

17x8 5x114 supposed offset of 42mm

Now, according to the wheel offset calculator

And according to the stock wheel size being (on my current wheels 15x6)
And all FC wheels having an offset of 40mm;

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 27mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 23mm
So, does anyone have any experience with these wheels, as I've heard that Mitsubishi GTO wheels actually have had the spokes put out as to fit on a larger offset, typically when going aftermarket on those cars you'd get a 35-38mm offset. Which, from what i've seen, is the norm for FC3S cars.

My car is extremely lowered, with cusco coilovers too.

Anyways, opinions?

I say no, they won't fit. (Stock TII-7" 40mm)-The rims in question will move the inner rim .59" closer to the suspension. A 225 x 50 will barely fit on the stock rim, in fact, certain brand 225 50 tires won't make it on the stock rim. So moving the rim in over 9/16" no good. Maybe the rims will fit and you could get some skinny tires that would work.
Best to check clearance between the strut and your present wheel. The 27 mm equates to 1 1/16" in closer to the strut.

They won't fit.
I dunno how you got those Supra wheels to fit either without spacers.

I got some R32 skyline wheels, they fit well and look the part, there is heaps of room at the back but up front there is about a finger thickness between the tyre and the strut, checked it with stock rims and its the same so i have stopped worring about it.

What clearence does every one else have?

R32 GT-R wheels are 16" x 8", +30mm offset
They fit fine with 225/50/16 tires front and back on an FC.
