What's the cheapest mod/repair you've done to your car?
My right muffler fell of due to rust, got a whole stock rust free catback for free. that **** is heavy, i'll be buying corksport or similar soon, time to loose the weight on the Targa piggy, also taking the Aluminum TII hood off my '91 that'll qualify as a very nice free mod as i will be selling the extra car.

.If I didnt have a cone now i would totally steal your idea with the rubber bands,.. i wonder why i didnt think of that instead of duct tape lol.
P.S just take the top off, leave the snorkel there so you still get some fresh air.

By the way, in regards to the other post above, I know for a fact that the intake manifold generates ALOT of heat. One night my accelerator cabel got stuck on the cruise control thingy and I had to repair it in a parking lot... with no light. It sucked, I advise anyone who doesn't believe me to try it themselves. Also, once again, like I said before, I was looking at a 7 for sale this past weeked that had a metal tube attatched from the cone shaped air filter to the manifold and the heat was such that it was burning a hole in the heat shield under the hood.

CHEAPEST MOD EVER: I raced a taurus (not SHO) and lost, so i did a compression test. I found that the spark plugs easily unscrewed by hand. I was losing compression through the spark plug holes! I raced him later that day and walked him. (The first race was before school, the second one was after school. I can only imagine what was going through his mind)

kinda late but..... whats funny is that that rubberband thing actually worked. I exposed the filter and held it down by rubberband increasing flow. I can actually feel the difference. :O) weird and cheap
