What's the biggest turbo run on an FC?

And how did it run? The biggest I've seen on the forums is something like a T4 with a 1.1 A/R.

I'm sure there's bigger out there and I'm just wondering how other people's are running.

What are you looking for? A dyno queen? Too large of a turbo for the engine, while producing impressive peak HP #s on a dyno, is pretty darn useless on the street. If anything, I plan to size my turbo on the small side when I get to that point - I'd take faster spool & better midrange torque over peak HP.

Also, you'll have MUCH better luck asking in the single turbo forum. That's where most of the turboheads live.

The single turbo forum is all FD guys... I've heard of a T88 on an FC as well as a GT42R but never actually seen them personally...

Its not like the FD is a different car, no reason we cant run what they do.
ill be swaping from my TO4B 1.15 to a MasterPowers T70 or AF61R in spring, and you can go much bigger than that if you want.

ok, I didn't realize a T70 was bigger.

And thanks for the almost completely off topic post , Syonyk. I'm not asking for advice, the last thing I need is a bigger turbo. I would just like to seem some comparisons in performance, i.e., lag, response, HP between large turbos.

Are you asking about compressor size or just the turbine A / R???
When most people talk about "turbo size", they are usually implying compressor size.

In the past 2 years here in the rx7 world alot of people have been going with a larger compressor and small backside. Kinda best of both worlds performance. You get more power with a reasonable spool. A while back some people would use a small 60-1 with a large 1.15 backside for around 350 at 15lbs on pump gas and fullboost at 3.5k rpms. Now people are using much larger compressors and small .81 or .84 backsides for 400-430 on pump gas with full boost around 4.5k rpms. A few people might say that they have been doing this for a long time and all that BS but it never was documented as it is today.

Thanks for clarification, Ted. I'm kinda fuzzy on how turbos are compared size wise, I'll have to look up what A/R really refers to then.

Thanks 13b4me And RXn407 thanks for providing such a comprehensive and contrsuctive post. WTF is with all the post ****** on the forum nowadays?

Hondas have been doing this with T3/T4 hybrids.
They have been doing this for over a decade in drag racing.

Locally I have seen a T04R and T70.

A local guy is going to be using a T88 on a 20b if I remember right.
