3 Rotor Swap Pictures

Decided i should get a few pictures of my semi-finished swap posted up. Please excuse the unwashed car and some small things that still need to be tidied up in the engine bay; namely wiring. Big thanks to Raspyrx7 for powdercoating the intake. I took these while i was building my battery box tonight. Dual Oil coolers will be mounted soon as well (had to wait for the right fittings to ship in). I'll get some of the progress pictures from the swap up soon.

I'm using a stock TII catback for low-end backpressure and overall quietness

Pretty cool. The powder coated intake should have come from factory like that.
Don't leave the DIS-4 on that side of the engine bay. Those boxes don't like heat even if it's temporary.

i like this, a NA 20B that is my plan in a while (oh perhaps 3-7 years) i really like the idea, really good job i think, i just have two sugesstions, like you said clean the wiring up, and the other would be to purchase a new airfilter, that girl looks kinda old and worn worn out, nothing a overpriced and good preforming Pop charger could not fix but that is my $0.02 take it at its worth, but i really like this, wanna see times when you get a chance (and maybee a vid or two of it on the dyno and at the track.... just my thoughts.

**edit**

to crispeed, i believe he was talking bout powdercoating the elbow, cause the intake looks like one from a Cosmo, and it's looks old and worn, that my guess although i could be wrong.....

and now that you have done the hard part (20B conversion) you should get some nice paint on the sweet little thing. color is sweet just needs to be "pampered" or redone completely then you have one bundle of major fun, and good looks

good work i really like that

Yeah that Air filter is nasty, i cleaned that K&N for the time being; a new K&N filter is on its way in. The Intake is powdercoated, they dont come that way from the factory; theres a bit of dirt or something on it right now but I'll clean it up. The MSD box after driving doesnt seem to get too hot although I'll keep an eye on it and i'll look into relocating it up a bit anyways. The intake elbow is off an FD; i just cut and repositioned it so it would work. Thanks for the comments and input guys. I'm working on the wiring as we speak.

some of the first JC Cosmo's did come with a black powder coated (think it was powder coated) intake from the factory, if not then there is alot running around in Japan, cause i've seen them and i know i have a few pics at home, if i'm nto mistaken they were the first batch of 20B's to leave the factory, the ones with the E shaft probem? can't remember something along those lines.

B, do you have pics of the underside of the hood? I"m running fc3s.org mounts and a cut TII hood with mine. I never bothered to see if the NA would work.

Nice radiator as well, I have the AFCO twin-pass as well. Mine doesn't have a filler on it though. Mine just has what looks like a drain petcock where your filler is.

You can see where i cut the hood in the 3rd from last picture; I made my own mounts, they're just solid and i have a little less than 1/2" from the PS rack. The solid mounts are great, i dont really feel the engine. This afco keeps the engine nice and cool w/o any ducting work at all (we'll see where that goes with summer weather and an IC blocking things).

I might have missed all this info somewhere, but who made the header? and what compression rotors are you running, any porting? also, will the forced induction be a supercharger or turbo since you already have that mighty handsome header?

I don't see the TPS in the front, and our 20B throttle cable comes out the back!

I think the majority of the 20B FC swaps were done to white series 4's for some reason. Glad to hear i made someones day haha. Heres a small clip of it scooting down the road. Now mind you its running dog rich up top in this clip so its kind of slow moving through gears when i get on it (plus going up hill doesnt help)

I cant be sure of the true orgin of the header right now. It orignially came off a local club member's hill climb race car that he built in the 90's (i'll ask him the next time i see him). The block is stock everything for now. The car will be moved to turbo in a while, i'm still looking at my options but i beleive the GT42R will be streetable enough for the car. Picture of the header

Yes that is a 3rd gen TB, seems to be working nicely, you just have to fill the small hole on the manifold so air cant escape into it.

Where did you get your radiator? PN? I have a copper 2 core but it has a hairline crack on the outlet. I could get it fixed for pretty cheap but overall it looks like *** and I would like to have the filler neck on the radiator.
