this is 87racer's friend, but if I had 30K I would buy a 1985.5 mustang SVO for in excellent condition for about $5K. that would be just for show. then I would buy another one and dump no more than 3K( giving myself alittle room) and for sure be in the 9's. and these are 2.3L turbo 4-banger cars. great MPG, insurance is cheap and still a great daily driver with 400HP. but I like mustangs more so thats just what I would do.

Avenger motorsports is having trouble getting more than 350 hp with a turbo upgrade, fuel management, intercooler, porting, heads, and hundreds of hours of custom work. Much higher than $3K invested.

There is no 2.3L turbo currently running 9's.

For the same amount of money, mod for mod, against a TII, buying costs the same, an RX-7 will always be 1.5-2 seconds faster in the quarter mile.

Do some research before you start claiming wild numbers and mad power, b/c there will always be people like me who can see right through ignorance.

30k, blown Fd for about 7-10k, 3-rotor. leave it as sleeper as possible, new black paint, some nice Fikse as big as possible, and a couple bigger turbos.

this is 87's friend again, excuse me but I came in here with respect just saying what I would do with the money. I would not buy NEW products. junkyard dog here. try visiting STANGNET.com and visit the 2.3 & turbo forums. no 2.3 running 9's, before you start bashing, go study yourself. many people are running 9's in the modified factory turboed 2.3. these 2.3T run 15's stock with 205HP of the highest rating of there production years. they can easily handle boost past 25psi(steel heads). the highest HP i've have encounter from a 2.3 is 750HP. so before you start telling me that I'm ignorant, how about you find out for yourself. I was in no way bashing RX-7s, I think they are bad ***. hell I want one but if I can I would get the SVO before. you can go ahead and tell me how ingnorant, but I would research the people already running them that, before you go and tell me anymore.

I'm still being peacefull here please don't get me wrong.

he asked wht wuld u do with ur FC guys

Im sure many of us would like to get a Skyline GTR with some more money but heres the answer to his question

1) for 30 grand --FIRST---i would buy a t2 with a very sound body but blown motor----i owuld look around a lot and am sure id find it for 600$--already have

2)Then id spend 4500$ on getting the engine and tranny built--not for speed alone but for reliability as well.
Heres a quote from pinneapple racing

"If you can, try to find a 89-91 motor. They are much
stronger around the dowl pin area. If not and the
boost levels are kept to reasonable levels the current
motor is fine. I would recommend

Performance rebuild $2495
Upgrade to FD rotor housings $ 250
Small street port $ 250
Stage 3 oil mods(no loop kit) $ 275
Our HD water seals $ 99
Est. for shipping-both ways $ 260

On the trans, rebuilds range from (parts&labor)
$550-950 on average.".

To this point weve spent 4329 in getting the car done--i added 100 to get it towed from a nearby location since it wasnt running---add 950 for the tranny and thts 5279.
Since i have 30Gs id give a grand to a mechanic for labour! 6279 till now....in which hed put everything together alongwith replace all the fluids, change spark plugs( a degree colder),wires, rewire fule pump, silicon hoses for 200$ more--the works
6479 till now-----bear with me
After tht get a good clutch for 300$
Injector cleaning and balancing--100$ from RC enginnering?
NEw battery,NEw alternator,new starter--->300$
Fresh tires and badass rims---1500$
Elimination of the frikkin wiring harness ie e6k..the number 1 reliability mod! 1600$
new shocks and struts---600
Everything new in the engine bay (fuel rail,OMP and lines, elimination of Mass airflow sensor,BLITZ air intake, cold airbox, scooped headlight cover, front mount intercooler, external wastegate, new turbo (60-1),blow off valve-boost controller---i knwo thts an interior thing but it controls boost so yeah, strut bar, fronty and backy............oh and clean the hell outta the engine bay before anything.........battery relocation,TID mod, throttle body mod, upgraded fuel pump-larger secondaries, larger radiator.......dyno tuning of the new system........free flowing exhaust from the turboback....shortthrow shifter, sway bars ,guages and a nice car stereo system.
Replace ALL old wiring----sunroof,power mirror everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.........this will be roughly 5000$ depending on good deals...
roughly 15,000$ till now
Full paint alongwith a the bomex rear bumper,re amemiya side skirts and a feed lip for the front (5000$).
20,000$
Since i have a front mount id go with the panspeed hood-1650 extra
21,650 and counting........
at this point ive realized ill never be happy with my FC-no matter wht ........hehe.......... matra"need more mods, need more mods".
now with roughly 8500 left ill buy 3 of the most ferocious dogs i can find and chain them next to the FC with really large chains at night--so any1 who dares venture anywhere near my FC gets it!

With 30 grand.... OOHHHH MAN *closes eyes and dreams*.

Well, i'd do two things. I'd get like a 91 TII, mariah mode 6 widebody, do all the little goodie mods to it.

Then buy another 91TII, w/ a perfect engine and transmission. Drop it into my 1st get gsl-se, new clutch, ported, new oil system haltech e11 or whatever its called (still in beta), do a nifty exhaust job, loud and proud, but not ricer, 17" rims, full custom interior. Well, i'd make it look like htis:

I'd do a 3 rotor NA in my vert and then restore the rest of the car to mint condition. It is in already good condition so I'd have a good bit of money left.

buy a ef for like 2000 so i save gas being a delivery driver.
the rest is fc funds
buy some bride or sparco seats.
some dynamat.
full t2 streetport swap and kaaz diff.
spend about 5000 on suspension and suspension tuning.
then rims and tires, lots and lots of tires.
shine auto body kit, and factory white re-paint.
also some kind of standalone computer and dyno time.
then use up all my tires in parking lots and tracks.
guess i'll just use whatever is left on tires.
