with $30K I would strip everything out of the car. Then I'd pick up the Amemiya FC2000 kit and hood, and have the chassis repainted championship white. Next the 20B would be dropped in with no A/C or P/S. The 20B would be well tuned up to around 400 RWHP. As for the interior, it would be S5 black with manual seatbelts and Recaro adjustable seats for both passenger and driver. Boost, EGT, Oil pressure, and Fuel pressure gauges, the last three mounted where the stereo used to be. Power windows removed for manual ones and sunroof converted to glass moonroof. 3.5" downpipe to a 3.5" midpipe to an Apex'i GT spec exhaust. As for suspension: front and rear cusco STBs and swaybars. Tein RA dampers all around. 17x8 and 17x9 Advan Oni or Work Meister wheels with Toyo rubber.

I think that just about does it, and I'll bet it could be done for about $30K.

What I don't understand is that a 13B is capable of more then 400RWHP so why go with a 20B, just for the cool factor Thats pretty ******* expensive though, I'd still take my supra

$30,000 + my GXL

If I didn't have to keep my 2nd gen, I'd put minimal cash into it. Then sell the car. Then I would buy one of these:

http://www.pettitracing.com/Frames/html/Banzai.html

----------------------

If I wanted to blow $30k on my car, then I'd probably do the following:

-Swap in an N/A Renesis

-Upgrade the Rear End to have 4.30 gears and a better LSD:
http://www.rx7.com/cgi-local/2catalog.cgi?cat=2

-Do a complete brake upgrade to high temperature brake fluid and ceramic pads (already have slotted rotors, and stainless lines are on the way).
http://www.raybestos.com

-Add a stronger clutch
http://www.rx7.com/cgi-local/2catalog.cgi?cat=2

-Upgrade the radiator
http://www.rx7.com/cgi-local/2catalog.cgi?cat=17

-Get KYB 8-way externally adjustable struts with a quality set of springs:
http://www.victoriabritish.com

-Repaint the car to a perfectly original Harbor Blue color with a completely stock exterior.

-Replace miscellaneous aging mechanical, electrical, and interior parts

-Put on some 215/45-17 Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position tires
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...er=Bridgestone

-Find some sucker to race for cash. (What do you have? Oh, its just an old N/A RX-7. See how tiny the engine is? It's only 80 cubic inches.)

-Get out of town before that sucker found my @$$

-Alternative racing option: Try to run the car in Solo II competition with some Hoosier slicks.

---------------------

I suppose a more practical answer is:

Buy the girlfriend a new RX-8, so she can't complain when I spend time and $ on my RX-7...

FCdemon-

a 3 rotor will make so much more power than 400 hp. The really scary part about it is that a 20B will do it reliably, with little stress on the engine.

I second that!

From what I hear a 3 rotor can do 600hp reliably, this true?

the reason why I only said 400 WHP is that it would hardly be stressing the engine at all... it would run reliably for a very long time I'd reckon, all the while putting out some crazy torque

Okay, okay. Maybe I'd shoot for 500 WHP

I'd sell my FC and buy an S2000 or a Z4. Either that or keep the FC in the garage and pay off college loans.

no a cyclone intake does not change the valve timing or lift like vtec all it is is just different runners that are open when the engine is not making boost. when it starts making boost it opens up the other set. it just helps with low end torque which dsms have a real problem with

Put it all into one single motor for my 1990 S5 TII.
That's the plan, should be done around next spring.

I didn't say it was like VTEC or VVTLi, I said "it doesn't get much better, less you added a form of VTEC or VVTLi to it."

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this from the girls, but here goes: It doesn't take $30,000 to get two girls, hell it doesn't take $30, got alcohol?

30 dollars of alcohol will just make them regret the previous encounter. 30K will keep em coming back for more (with things better than alcohol).

I would keep my car the way it is and put that 30k on a down payment on a house. Cars are fun but owning your own house is better

I'm reading all the posts. I made this thread in hopes that people would post what mods they would do to the FC (not spend on another car), but some people seemed to ignore that point.
