what temp exhaust wrap for downpipe?

I'm looking to get some exhaust wrap for the downpipe on my my t2 and Im not sure what temp rating to get so I won't have to worry about it disintegrating.

I know rotary exhaust can get very hot, most cheaper dei wraps are rated at 1200f continuous and 2000 intermittent, I didn't know if that would suffice or if Id be wasting my money and should get something better.

I also plan to get the stuff you spray on the wrap to prevent rust.

Just get the highest temp you can find. I got some generic hand my down from a friend years ago, and it's perfectly fine.

So the 1200f one will be fine? I just have a habit of buying the best, even if exceeds my needs.

High temp stuff is like $30-40 (1800+) lower temp (1200f) is like $15, huge price gap.

So ill use the cheaper stuff if its no big deal.

its a huge price gap, but the good stuff is only $40!

my friend has an EGT in the downpipe of his T2 and it sees like 750c max...

Translates to 1382(f)

I found titanium exhaust wrap, hows that stuff compared to fiberglass? The titanium is rated to 3000f and only like 15 dollars for 2x15

Upon a Google search it looks like titanium is the best.

I used DEI Titanium wrap on my n/a Corksport header. So far the wrap has held up well and it seems to be protecting the 6-port actuators from the heat as well.

15-40 bucks is not exactly a huge price gap when you are building a rotary......
