So after all that work you're going to compromise the whole set-up with a restrictive and undersized TB connection? Bummer...

Why would it matter? How much of a restriction can it be if you're still running the stock turbo?

ummm, HUGE!!!

with Greddy or HIGGITRIX (PM HIGGI) TB elbow= 90* @ 3" diameter
with stock TB elbow= 180* @2"

i don't know why you would think it isn't restrictive, whether or not he has the stock turbo on there.

Go ahead and use the stock TB elbow for the meantime but you and I both know you need to get the right TB elbow soon. I would highly recommend Higgi's cast elbow vs. the Greddy one (why? because it's the same product and quality and the $$ is going to a rotary guy)

oh for sure i will, i have had my front mount plummed in to the engine bay for 2 weeks now and its killing me not haven it hooked up, so intill i get some extra money to get the higgs, at least it will be hooked up and i can get rid of the TMIC. i think i take the tmic off at least once a week for something or another its a pain in the ***!

So event though the stok turbo outlet is the exact same size as the stock elbow, it's still a restriction?

Ok, sure, whatever. go ahead and run a 4" exhaust off of a stock downpipe too.

Of course it is. How well a system flows is not determined solely by one point. If it was, there'd be no gain from putting a 3" exhaust or 3" TID on a stock turbo, but we know there can be significant gains. By your theory because the stock turbo compressor outlet is 2", the the TID, intercooler piping and exhaust can all be 2" and it'll make no difference. Sound stupid? Yes, because it is.

You're also missing the point that retaining the stock TB inlet requires using a very sharp bend to get onto it, and you're still entering the TB at a very poor angle. That alone is an obvious unnecessary restriction.

90* bend > 180* bend when it comes to airflow. Period.

So if you make the same amount of power with the tmic, as you do with a fmic and a higgi elbow, on the stock turbo, its still a restriction to the massive 30lbs of air that is flowing through there?

Ok.

ok, so it's 2 and 3/4", please excuse my mistake. Even though the elbow itself is not 90*, the BEND that goes INTO the elbow will be 90* as opposed to a 180* bend. You know what I mean?

there are many different POVs on this:

I believe you are increasing performance by moving the TMIC from the top ( where heatsoaking is inevitable) to the front. I don't know where you get that the performance will be the same though. Just because the turbo is the same stock unit does not mean that the AIR TEMPERATURE WILL REMAIN THE SAME.

will the complexly bent pipes decrease performance? perhaps?
will the temprature drop in the FMIC increse performance? most likely (when compared to the TMIC)
will a bigger opening to the TB increase performance? most definitely.
