are you trying to spend your money on aesthetics, power, suspension, reliability, or what???
It depends what area you want to improve for what to spend it on.

1. Standalone EMS (microtech lt-8 $900)
2. Fuel Pump (Walbro 255 $70)
3. Injectors (2 720's $220)
4. Exhaust (anywhere between 550-1000 for turboback)
5. Tuning (300-500)
blow the rest on suspension
This will be a leap in performance with the ability to easily upgrade Turbo, IC,and Fuel system with the Standalone later on.
2-2.5K on power, .5-1k left for suspension
if you actually have 3k to blow

you have 1 option in my book...
you rebuild the motor, save up about another 1k or so, and go all out with a rebuild, race port, 3mm seals, any internal that needs to be replaced can be, and get a solid motor built up!
seriously... you need a good solid motor to start out with, if you just keep upgrading you will eventually pop your motor, just start off strong, with a rebuild/port and then add fuel (pump, regulator), and then go with the standalone. you dont need to worry about the turbo or IC...the stock turbo can put out PLENTY of power, you just need to get it rebuilt, which will only cost about $600, and then you'll have yourself a 300-400rwhp car with that alone.
