What sensor is this?

What sensor is this? my cars CEL code keeps coming on

i unplug it when the car is running, and then plug it back in and shut the car off.

After that, i start the car again and my CEL goes away. I'm assuming its this sensor, my question is which sensor is it?

The car studders and surges when the light is on it bucks badly and won't rev over 2k rpm unless i slowly, (extremely slowly) press the pedal down

I cannot see it very well. Maybe someone else will know by the connector.

Off subject a bit... but you really ought to cover that (B) terminal on your alternator.

Is this an S4? Of all the factory sensors, the Air Temp sensor is the cheapest engine sensor and it's not close.

its an S5, and i haven't ran the codes yet. However all of my problems keep leading back to this sensor.

I'm going to clean it and see what happens before i go in for a diagnostic

Look at the Engine and Emissions section of the S5 FSM and look at the pinout list for the ECU and compare the reading at the proper ECU pin and compare it to spec. This will tell you what you need to know.
