What kind of engine is in that?????

I was at the gas station the other night with my buddies one of which (95R2-89T2 ground zero).
He had his 95 sittin in front of me when this guy walks up looks at his 95 and then looks at my 89T2 and says
"what kind of engine is in there?"
I said "13b" like the smart *** that I am!
He said "what is that"
"a rotary" I returned.
"Isnt that only in RX-7's?" he asked.
"Yeah that is what I am sitting in" I replied! then I just drove off!!!!

I just wanted to share my local redneck story for yall! LOL
And no I am not a redneck!!!
I do give him credit for at least knowing what an RX7 is!!!

That is surprising, a redneck with some knowledge of cars other than Ford 351s make good trucks

Here's my best story

I was sitting at the gas station in Big Rapids and a Corvette was at the pump ahead of me (Same color as mine too!)

A guy filling up his RV on the other side of the pump was talking to me about my car and said how he hadn't seen one like it on the road and commented on how you see those cars, and nodded at the Corvette, all over the place. The Vette owner gave us both a dirty look, which was my cue to chime in, and I replied "Yeah, and my car only cost me $3500 to look this good in!"

The Vette owner heard me and wasn't too happy, at least not by the look on his face!

Many people hear rotary, but think radial engine. Thus, the question would make perfect sense, they're just thinking of the wrong engine.

I once had someone try to tell me these things were sweet with four carbs, one per cylinder, and then arguead with me about it being a radial engine.

O'Reilly makes great computer books, I have almost there entire current line-up.

Just because they are great with puters doesn't mean they are great with cars!

Yeah a few of my friends are/were aircraft mechanics and keep thinking mine are radial engines. Just force of habit I guess.

That's not bad.
One time me and my friend were filling up at a gas station before going in a cruise. Some redneck pulls up to a pump beside us and told us that we had some nice mustangs. I was like what? and left. Dumbass people. He couldn't read the RX-7 badge in the back.

Technically, no.

Remember, there were rotary-powered cars out for many years before the RX-7 came about. RX-2, -3, -4, and -5 were all rotary-powered Mazda sedans. There was also the REPU (rotary-engine pickup), and some models of the RX sedan series were available as wagons.

And that's just Mazda...

Be sure your of your facts before being a smartass. It'd be a shame to get schooled by a "dumbass redneck."

Not flaming, but just out of curiosity, how does a Civic, or ANY FWD vehicle do a burnout? And that "burnout" that Vince did in the from the "Rice and Ridiculous" doesn't count, that was just him going in reverse, and then punching it while the wheels were still in the opposite direction.

I get folks askin me all the time about "that rotary engine thing" I have in my car. I really like sittin em down and explaining about the beauty of having only 3 moving parts! Who needs pistons, when you've got 2 doritos on a stick?

Well I never said that they were only in RX-7's, he did!

I understand what you are saying though because I agreeded with him by saying yeah. But the reason that I did was because I needed to leave because everyone that I was following was already gone so I had some ground to make up.

I know that there are other such rotary powered objects. I am partial to the rotary powered bus.

I just wanted to clear my name.
