What the hell is this MSD box?

(This is crossposted... didn't get much attention in the racecar tech forum so I thought I'd try here)

I found this MSD box in my car...

I have no idea what the heck it is... here, pics:

<img height=480 width=640 src="http://members.dslextreme.com/users/that_guy/sellstuff/msdbox1.jpg"></img>

Anyone?

EDIT: The pics are gigantic... and putting them in the thread makes it look retarded because they're big... so just click the links below please.

I can't even open it! The screws are some weird half-hex type... I have some hex drivers like them but not the exact size... looks like a star. Damn weird *** screws!

I looks like it was made in the 70's!
Stop buying stuff from eBay that don't have pictures!

if there are only four wires... its not an ignition box.. looks like some type of voltage regulator or booster.....

BTW- those are Torx screws.

I think MSD used to stand for "Multiple Spark Discharge"
It turned your stock ignition's single shot into a burst of hits to the plug.

still stands for Multiple spark discharge..

But, the box design hasn't changed in 20 years
