Anyone?

EDIT: The pics are gigantic... and putting them in the thread makes it look retarded because they're big... so just click the links below please.

It looks a lot like a Soft-Touch rev limiter. Can you unwind the wires and take another picture of that side of the box? There should be a couple short loops of wire sticking out and two pin holes for the RPM module. 640x480 is plenty big enough for the photos.

Unfortunately nothing there Josh, I'd post a picture but nothing to see... back is solid just like in the picture.. just has 4 wires coming out of it. =/

And the really annoying part? The hex-like screws... I don't have the right size for those... ******* weird *** wannabe hex screws *SIGH* so I can't pull the plate off... I might drill it off just to see wtf is in there.

Those are Torx screws. Go buy a set of Torx drivers at Sears or wherever and you won't curse them any more. I bought some bit recently at Sears that have a hole in the center of the bit for the "security" type torx screws.

I'll see what I can find out about that box. In MSD's wire color code white is usually a trigger input from points, purple is usually the +input from a magnetic pickup and thered/black are power and ground.

I'm betting what you have is an older 8920 type tach adaptor.

The wiring would definately suggest that, and it makes sense... I bet you're right there. Thanks very much for figuring that out Josh!

Now I don't know what to do with it though haha... I don't have any other MSD electronics... wonder why this was in there... weeeird. It seems like it'd be useless on its own... and do newer units have it built in or something?

Also thanks for telling me what those screws are called... I do have a set but it doesn't fit the size of this box...
