what happens if you use one s4 rotor housing and one s5?
Long story short I had a guy rebuild my motor and after getting it back i posted pics of my build and a member pointed out that the dude used 1 s4 and 1 s5 housing. What's gunna happen? Here's the link to the orginal thread. https://www.rx7club.com/new-member-rx-7-technical-256/just-finished-painting-my-rotor-housings-980719/
Damn, when I told the guy about it, he said nothing matters. It'll work fine -_- and on a side note the car isn't runnin at the moment. I'm waiting for him to have time to fix it. And he said he won't have time till the end of this month. >:o
He has an ad on craigslist. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/ant...120867799.html

I would run but he's gunna fix it for free cuz its still under his 6mo warranty. So ill let him do his thing and then ill most likely sell the damn thing. This is the worst fc I've owned.

I'd insist that he either rebuilds my original motor, or at least put ONE together for you. That craigslist ad leads me to believe that he's NOT gonna hack up anyone's car.
He's legit, but that whole thing with the housings is making me wonder. My friend is the one who showed him to me he's got an fd with a good port job. The dude even took pics of the whole rebuild. Step by step of everything he did. Ill put the link to my photobucket for anyone who would like to look at em http://s1250.photobucket.com/albums/...dankestkush88/
there's a super rebuilder about 2 hours northeast of you. hell, it's close enough that i might do a pickup ad dropoff for fuel costs and lunch.
S4 and S5 housings are NOT interchangable, i found out the hard way when an engine ate a side seal that it can cause damage when the timing split is differing from one rotor to another. granted in my case it was both series 4 housings but one was a Jspec housing which uses series 5 spark plug timing(not a common issue).
i've said this numerous times for about 8 years now when i first encountered the issue.
i've also said this before: "you get what you pay for", a basic rebuild runs at minimum $500 in parts, so his rebate he is making $350 for about 40 hours of work. now lets figure this out, 40 divided by 350 is $8,75 per hour. so he has overhead for the shop and is making minimum wage... now lets think about this, he is either just cleaning the parts and reusing everything minus the soft seals in the engine or is working basically for free, which do you think it is?

RotaryEvolution rebuilt my REW 3+ years ago. After almost 10 trackdays and 15k miles, my car still passes smog and purrs like a kitten...a Liger kitten.
Hit up the guy two posts above me. His name's Ben and he'll make your car run right the 1st time.
