what did I break? engine now missing!

ok, I was up @ moroso in the slug a few weeks back. The car wasn't running bad, but wasn't running great. It seemed that at 6,000 or 6,500 rpm, it just kinda stopped making power.
A few slow *** 17 sec Quarters, and that ws enough for me.

Been driving fine, until a week or so ago, I was downshifting in 3rd, and it kinda sputtered /popped(make the soft P sound - puh). Didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary.

Well now, when I am decelerating, and then touch the gas again, I get that puh sound, and it seems like the engine isn't making any power over 7000 rpm now....

such a stupid question, but could this be related to the 5/6th ports?

please, any suggestions................................

Thanks in advance

definetly sounds like the lack of power is related to the aux. ports

aside from that though, how many km's on the motor? and when was its last tune up, plugs, wires, filters, etc?

yeah, does help to mention some basics!!

it's got 113,000 Mi. (roughly 248,000Km)

about 1,200 Mi. Oil changed

about 3,ooo Mi ago, it got a new clutch, slave and master clutch cylinder, and had the tranny and diff flushed.

4,000+ Mi ago, I did tune up(Wires & plugs, air filter, new oil, reset tps new battery)

right before that was new radiator and flush/fill.

it's been well taken care of........

well....first off why don't you pull the actuator arms off of the aux. ports and seeif the ports themselves are free....

then check the solenoids for suction/freeness

^ haha, yeah that might be it, I'm no good at conversions... lol

So I just tested the ports(used Arron cake's tech page how to thingy) and discovered that one is not opening at all and the other looks like it opens most of the way(that one had a 'clean' rod before) the one that did not move, had a dirty greasy rod, just from looks, I bet it hasn't worked in a while...

looks like I've got something to do tomorrow!!!

is there anything else I should do while I'm cleaning the actuators?(other than physically checking the ports????)

I had a bunch of vdi (bac valve & tps) problems when I first got the car. I had the bac valve cleaned/rebuilt, but it seems like it acts up once in a while.

I'll clean the actualtors and see what happens..

Thanks
