What is this called?
Hey can anybody tell me what this oil line is called, and where I can get a replacement for it? Mine is cracked where the picture is and leaks oil like iran! It runs in front of the oil cooler and does a loop on the passanger side and runs back to the drivers side and meets again where the picture is.
I might be an idiot....
did you remove the automatic transmission cooler lines when you did the swap??? yes? alright I am an idiot...
I cant give you a name for it though if thats not it.
I am sure if you call a place to order it they would know.

No, i never did remove the automatic lines (if thats what they are) the car came minus motor/tranny so I don't know if it had lines or not, but if thats what they are, off they are going!

just make sure thats what they are before you rip em off!
check radiator (if its still one from the auto) to see what kind of fittings it has and compare that to lines
the lines should then end somewhere in the neighborhood of the transmission

Actually I think that it might be the power steering cooler! It's just a loop with PS fluid in it, but if you cut it you will lose all the PS fluid and cause problems, like the PS pump destroying itself running with no fluid inside...

I don't have a power steering pump anymore, it's been removed and is capped off, can I just remove those lines and cap it as well? (my rack is filled with fluid btw)

well, if it is the power steering lines (gene is most likely right, im not around my car and pics are hard to tell by) then that should be alright
the heat that the lines would be cooling is made from the pump.
so if you cap them or do whatever else you need to do in order to make it work, then it should be okay

OK, thanks a ton. I'll be working on removing that later tonight along with that huge pan under my car (hope I don't break any more bolts) so I can clean it all off, soo much oil/dirt in there it looks terrible!
on second thought... it might be safer just to leave it like it is if it is the power steering line. you need to make sure that fluid isnt still going through it. i dont have manual or anything w/ me so i cant really say

well, I want to have fluid in the power steering rack, but I capped off all the lines to the pump/etc. and considering that line is just a cooler, it shouldn't matter if it's removed and capped off as well, or so I hope!
