Weird, Strange, and a Bit Confusing.

Ok, I ran into an office for like 5-8minutes. Oops! I left my map light on. o worries, after a bit of cranking, vroom, she started right up. However, the stock volt gauge read a bit under 12v for a few minuted. But the wierd part was, all of the idiot lights were on. After about 30 seconds, they started to fade, and as the volt gauge read 12V even, the lights went off. Is this a feature to warn that your battery is losing charge?

All is just fine now, I was just wondering why the idiot cluster lit up when battery charge was low.

Im not 100% sure if this is something Mazda designed...or if it just happens, but yeah...the idiot lights do come on ( at least for my car ) when the battery was hella low.

I am comcerned that voltage did not come up as soon as the car was started.

The Alt in good working condition can easily charge the battery and run the car, unless you have added a bunch of electronics.

The warning lights come on with operating voltage being under 12V. The alt should always be putting out that much.

Sounds like you need to start saving up for a new alt and battery.

Sorry. It did come up to 12V when the car started. Sorry, I did not explain that very well!! Also, my volt gauge reads usually like 14V normally. When I started it today, it was at 12V. Is this odd?

Oh yeah, only electrics I have added was 2 gauges.
