Does anyone have an idea of the weight of an S4 shell, no suspension, drivetrain, interior, bumpers, etc.

S5 weighs 600 lbs with just a gas tank. Everything else removed. No wire or bolt left on the car.

 

How the hell do you KNOW this????

 

Lol, Ive parted out 2 cars, and sold the shell s scrap metal(one was too rusted, and one was wrecked).

 

exxxxcellent....4 or 6 of us and the pickup truck and the T2 shell will be coming to its new home

The seller jsut guesstimated at 1000lbs. Thats quite a difference for 6 people or so. Does anyone else have ideas?

I can't imagine it being anywhere NEAR 600lb for an s5... they're just too... big

I could almost move the whole shell by myself...I am only 5-11 150#'s...so it's not that heavy... I was able to lift one side in the air by myself... with 2 or more people you could move the shell on to something pretty easily--that is as long as there are no parts at all on it and there is no gas in the tank... So i'd guess the shell weighs around 600#'s!!Hope that helps!

Well I just bought the thing for a whopping ten dollars so now I guess were gonna find out the true weight. Thanks everyone.

The 600 lb car didnt have subframes, glass, doors, etc. If it could come off, it was not on the shell. And to get it onthe trailer, I stood in the engine bay, picked the front of the car up, and walked it up the trailer as my brother backed it up. I could easily pick either end of it up by myself.

The doors weigh about 90 lbs each, the hatch is another 70-80, wiring harness is about 50, rear subframe/suspension is 150+, etc. All the stuff really adds up.
