weight reduction or show?
I know theres a big debate of wether to make your car show or go. My question is i want to redo my interior. However this will add more weight to my car. So do i just place gauges with holes in the dash. Or should i add some wait to customly fabricate them into the das?
Its a daily driver by the way.

krazy; Corksport is coming out with a gague cluster that replaces the idiot lights. Also, you can get the DIN-sized gague pod from a Volvo (Saab?) if you have an aftermarket CD Player.

It was a Saab. I wrote it down, so I can pick one up when I get my gauges. Do a search in this section for Saab part # 027-3235 and you should find it.

so what part is the saab? Thats exactly what I want to do with my guages but don't know where to get that plastic piece that is holding the guages. Please more info!!!! Thanks.
Call your local Saab dealer and ask for that part number. Or go there in person to be sure you order the right part.
You could probably make one pretty cheap too. Just a sheet of plastic with three holes drilled in it, nothing fancy. Then find a way to mount it.

Re. weight reduction, I would guess with an FC, it would take at least 50 lbs to really notice extra weight. However, it is not the three pounds you add to your dash that will bloat your car's weight, it is the trend to adding small parts here and there which eventually add up to 100 or more pounds, which will slow you down.
The worst kind of weight to add is rotating / unsprung weight (blingin' wheels).
As an example, my car went from 2650 lbs with stock ports to 2420 pounds with a street port and slightly lighter wheels / tires, and it is a rocket compared to what it used to be. What makes a great car is paying attention to everything . . because there are a ton of small things which you can overlook that will hold your car back.
