water pump housing swap s4 into s5 (searched)

I remember reading somewhere that they are interchangeable only that the lower part of the s4 housing gets in the way of the s5 electric omp. (no problem, microtech)

Apparently there is no way to swap out the water pump without changing the housing gasket so I might aswell just get the s4 one since I'll be going vmount later down the road....

The question is whether or not the housing are turely interchangeable ?

This is a turbo s5 so I'll be getting a turbo s4 water pump housing.

Will the water pump pulley and clutch fan (s5) go onto the s4 water pump?

Housing gaskets seem to be the same, so i don't see any problem.I'm guessing the housing spacers will be the same too? (confirm please)

Are the thermo sensors the same? or is it the gauges that are different? (i know that s4 gauges read 1/4 norm and s5 1/2)

Mostly just worried about the housing interchangeability as i need to make an order before thursday

thanks again

Housings are different the s5 model did not require shims for the water pump housing like the s4 models did.. so if your going to use an s4 housings make sure you have the shims for it also.. but the gasket coming out of the motor that mates up to the housing's are the same

isn't there something about the OMP linkage?
..something like,If you use the s5 waterpump housing on an s4, you may not be able to run the Omp linkage, and Therefore you may have to go with PREMIXING.

rad cap on thermo housing instead of rad.

(btw runnign full microtech so i am rpemixing :P)

REason for change of rad cap placement is that i'll be going vmount setup eventually meaning the rad won't be the highest point in the system anymore, either get an air separator tank, or change out the housing as i do my water pump

The center bore on the WP pulley and clutch fan are different from S4 to S5. If I remember correctly the S5 center hole is larger, so there is a tendency to wobble as it will no longer be hubcentric. This will wear out the bearings. You are better off sourcing an S4 WP pulley and clutch fan.

The water thermo sensor is the same, but they use a different thermoswitch for the e-fan in front of the A/C condensor.

Thinking of going dual e fans...

I'll see if i can get another pulley aswell. Bearings on my current waterpump are shot and are leaking and letting air in
