Maybe there was something wrong to begin with...or maybe your friend didn't know what he was doing.

You ever notice that half the people that dog anything start the sentence with "MY FRIEND"...

My friend also blew his motor. Fact of the matter was it had 140,000kms and he put a brand new carby 7 inch Camden kit on it. The carb was old and leaned out. BANG.

New built 13B and a new carburetor later. Most reliable, daily drivable, unique RX-7 round these parts. Its pretty quick too.

To say how rare it is, theres only 2 round here. Both sound incredable.

Last big meet we had, there was like 10 turbo 2's, 1 NA FC. ALL had the same, or very similar turbo kits. There was no reason to put up any hoods.

AND you can't possibly beat the sounds of the new Camden Charger.

And 200 at the wheels is plenty.

Yes exactly! People are loving the idea of the S/C on my rx7 locally, it's never been seen or done around here, let alone that many places in the US Period.

The value of the car is more than a turbo'ed version, everyone's seen a turbo on a import, no big deal anymore, but a supercharger is something to think of.

I've got 80k miles on this engine, it's got plenty of life in it, the fuel system is working fine and the engines just in over all good shape.

USER/TUNER error.
Get a stand alone and get a pro to tune the AFR's in. If you did then look at your electronics(boost sensors/injectors/harness/grounds/etc). If after all that. THEN blame the hardware(SC/Turbo...)

Unless a piece of the SC itself broke off and went in the engine I don't see a way for the SC to destroy a motor.

75% of the blown engines I've seen are from bad tuning/electrical errors.

Because I want to do something different, anyone can do a 20B or buy a FD...how many people do you know that have a supercharger on their rx7?

Nope - not many, search for supercharger in the second generation section and I guarntee you won't find many threads...

sorry but it's not original though, camden makes kits for these cars. to be original it would have to be something unique not a kit. a 20B in an FC is just about as rare.

yes i know i'm gonna sound like a jackass but i'm just stating the truth.

don't get me wrong though, i do like to see people do things differently.

I'm a hater. I HATE THAT ******* CAR. (And snub for sending us a pretty damn incomplete kit). There was so much stuff that wasn't there or didn't fit right that it was pretty damn crazy, I can't believe we managed to dig up half the things we did to complete it.

lol, 'cause everyone else blew up their engines.

Just kiddin'. You set yourself up, though. I had to say it.

Congrats on the S/C. There's nothin' like the sound and throttle response of a supercharger. I LOVE my blown Miata.

HAH - fixed all the idle issues, idles at 1800 RPM like a charm (when its warm anyways hehe) I've got it set on +20% at idle due to the fact that it needs it when its cold...gas mileage isnt a concern.

For the two seconds of low rpm boost I got to feel before an unclamped feed line (dur what was I thinking) felt like it was AWESOME, it pinned me in the seat.
