I'm going to make one tomorrow, I could do it tonight but it's 10:53 and the whine is LOUD and it idles great when not below 1800 RPM lol - thank god for throttle adjustment, just cant warm up the car when its cold and walk in the house, actually have to mess with the thorttle on the way I guess.

Plus my batteries are dead, I'm going to take a picture for ya'll in a second though, I've got enough juice for one picture probbaly.

1800 RPM?! That's ridiculous. Car should idle cleanly at 750 RPM. If it doesn't, then there's something wrong with the car or the design of the kit. I know bridgeports that are idling under 1000 RPM....

I was even able to idle my first rebuild (2 years ago) initially on first startup, ported, no aux sleeves, no cold start, and timing 180º off at 1200rpms! WTF is up with this having to be above 1800?! After 30 min of idle I dropped it down to 900-1000 still with timing way the **** off and it was relatively fine, fix that crap!

There's nothing to fix short of getting rid of that kit, it specifically says right on their website to set it between 1500 and 1800 (once he fixes all the various vacuum leaks, such as the AFM coupler, intake bolts/studs, etc), it should go down lower, but I've never come accross one of these kits that will idle under 1200 (and even 1200 isn't stable)

Is that because the SC is producing boost at idle?

Partly, the charger doesn't have a bypass at all so it's always doing work (which creates a lot of drag).

Pardon my ignorance, but would a Haltec or any GOOD fuel computer take care of the idle issue, or is that just how the car runs now?

Asking because my Miata idles at 800 or so, just like it did from the factory. My S/C kit came with a GIAC chip...Does this Camden kit have any kind of air/fuel management?

It's only type of management is a RRFPR. Also, what type of S/C kit does the miata have? Chances are that kit has a bypass, or isn't a roots blower and isn't creating that much drag at idle. Even with a good aftermarket system, I think you'd be hard pressed to get it under 1200rpm.

My Miata has a centrifugal blower on it. No bypass valve. I guess you answered my question right there, Thanks. . My SC doesn't even begin to make + pressure until ...geez like 3000r's

But for as long as you said. When IS it going to be turbo time?

To Sonik: 1800RPM? Wtf, there isn't any tricks or gimmicks to get it lower?

What would YOU do to improve on this kit?

Have you ever found me attrachtive?

I would ditch all of it really, the charger itself and the manifold design is pretty bad.

Car was cold, it'll idle just fine when it warms up without me touching the gas, I did this in a rush.

Two lobed straight rotors will do that.

I think it sounds sexy, especially when you can hear it loud as day four houses down!

It doesn't have the badass SC sound .

Its like a remote control car that got on acid .

But good luck! Hope you're happy.

That's due to the video compression more than likely, ask sonicrat, at about 4k rpm when he first heard it he thought it sounded good, for a person that HATES Camden and all they stand for I think that's a good compliment!

It does sound a lot better once it's actually revving, but at the moment there's still a few various vac leaks/etc, at idle it kind of is more annoying though for some reason.

Yeah, most of the leaks should be taken care of in the next few days, Snub is sending the rest of the stuff that his dad forgot to send!
