Video of my Rx7

Well this is my Rx7 its a 1988 Se with T2 hood and S5 body conversion(I DO KNOW I NEED PAINT) so the engine in it has 66k miles on it and been seting for 2 years.. so i put it in(did the swap alone and in 15) and got it running farily good.. well this is the first time reving it over redline.. so i think the smoke is just from not being run alot.... also itz stock exhaust with howwled out cats...

tell me what you think of her

keep in mind in 15 and doing all the work alone

Sounds like the idle is pulsing, is your tps in good shape?

Your car is very patriotic. Red, White and Blue..... and black but who cares about that.

Your TPS need some tinkering or replacing.

why not set the tps at the ecu level of 1 volt. try to see if changing out the spark plugs and spark plug cables helps out your ride at all. cause that sounds bad really.

Yay! It runs! LoL

The O2 sensor isn't a bad idea, just not sure if it'll help the idle.

^ Shouldn't effect the idle. From what I've read here, the car dosen't go into closed loop until crusing on the highway, which invalidates the possibility of it being the o2 sensor

O2 sensor is ignored at idle.
Hell, you can go ahead and unplug it.

man we've been over this, and im telling you, when I installed my new o2 sensor it made a difference in how rich it ran AT IDLE! there was a few others that experienced the same thing..

anyways. HOld the tps ALL the way in with your finger (fingers if s5) and then put it at 1/4 throttle. Hold it there.

Does it still surge?

If it does not, then your tps will need replacing. Try this and get back to us.

Wideband testing says you're wrong.
How do you know it changed how rich it ran? Smell? Pretty poor indicator.

your car is an '88? I've got an '88 GTU. When i watchec the vid, at first it sounded just like my car. i've only got header, straight pipes and an APEX-i Turbo app exhaust. It's a great car, good job on your's!

Sharp sound--idle isn't perfect but at least it idles. My 86 n/a ends with a bit of a deeper sound. Stock exhaust, including cats: http://www.drcoopster.com/mazda/startup.mp3

The smoke is a tad worrisome, to me, at least.
